Generation Lyme created Gen Lyme Day to celebrate people in the tick-borne disease community for everything they are beyond their illness. It’s an accessible day designed for you, the community—to recognize and honor all the things that make you who you are.
While there is not currently an upcoming Generation Lyme Day scheduled, we look forward to bringing the event back in the future.
About Gen Lyme Day
People affected by Lyme and other tick-borne diseases can spend a lot of time being defined by illness—when they aren’t being dismissed or misunderstood altogether. And while people and organizations across the tick-borne disease community may have different experiences, priorities, and perspectives, we’re joined in the fight for a better future.
But there wasn’t much space to celebrate the people doing the fighting.
Gen Lyme Day was created to change that—to let us come together around something we can all celebrate: the people who make up our wonderful community.
The holiday recognizes that we are whole people, with value far beyond the illnesses that brought us together. We have complex identities, histories, relationships, interests, questions, talents, hopes, accomplishments, and things to look forward to. Gen Lyme Day is a chance to celebrate all of that—whatever it looks like for each of us.
