About Generation Lyme

Generation Lyme is a patient-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit community built to empower people facing Lyme and other tick-borne diseases.

Our Mission

Generation Lyme’s mission is to empower people facing Lyme and other tick-borne diseases by building community support so that no one has to navigate their experience alone.

Generation Lyme creates spaces where patients and supporters can feel welcome, understood, believed, supported, connected, and inspired.

Lyme disease can be extremely isolating. Generation Lyme exists to change that.

Our Vision

We envision a world where everyone affected by Lyme and other tick-borne diseases feels fully understood and supported and can easily get the help they need.

  • We also envision a future in which Lyme and other tick-borne diseases are no longer a concern. In this future, effective cures exist, diagnostic tests are quick and accurate, treatments are affordable and accessible, and ultimately these conditions are eradicated. We are proud to partner with organizations working toward these goals.

    But people living with these diseases need meaningful support now. Lyme and other tick-borne diseases can disrupt entire lives. In addition to serious physical effects, they can affect mental health, emotional well-being, relationships, finances, school, work, identity, independence, and overall quality of life. Isolation, misunderstanding, and dismissal can compound these challenges.

    Community and social connection are core to health and well-being. When illness leaves someone feeling isolated, misunderstood, or dismissed, having people who understand, who can help answer questions, and who can help you navigate what you’re going through—and just knowing you’re not in it alone—can make all the difference.

    Generation Lyme helps bridge the gap between long-term solutions and the support people need today.

  • Generation Lyme brings Lyme disease patients and supporters together to build strong bonds, lasting friendships, and a sense that no one has to go through Lyme alone.

  • Generation Lyme is here to provide emotional care, hope, and inspiration to the Lyme community. We are committed to fostering a safe space for Lyme patients. At our Meet-Ups and online spaces, Lyme patients can seek respite from daily struggles and connect with people who understand what they’re going through.

  • If Lyme has impacted your life, there’s a place for you at Generation Lyme. We pledge to foster a comforting environment free of discrimination, racism, sexism, ageism, ableism, or harassment.

    Generation Lyme offers a comforting, uplifting support group: Meet-Ups are places to connect on equal ground for emotional support. To keep our community as low-pressure as possible, business promotions, product placement, or outside fundraising are not permitted at Meet-Ups.
