Welcome to the Generation Lyme Zoom Account. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Generation Lyme Zoom service, including all Meet-Ups, programming, and associated communication channels. By accessing or using this service, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Zoom account.
For a plain-language summary of our expectations, please see our Generation Lyme Community Guidelines.
1. Account Usage
Registration Accuracy: You are responsible for providing accurate information during Zoom account registration and Meet-Up RSVPs.
Confidentiality: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
Authorized Use Only: The Zoom account is for official Generation Lyme programming and community use only. Personal or unauthorized use is prohibited.
2. Conduct and Community Standards
Participants and hosts are expected to maintain a safe, respectful, and professional environment during all Generation Lyme Zoom Meet-Ups and associated activities. The following conduct is prohibited:
Harassment, Discrimination, or Harmful Behavior: Any form of harassment, bullying, intimidation, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. Harassment may include, but is not limited to, bullying, mobbing, hazing, stalking, or psychological coercion.
Additional Prohibited Activities: Illegal, unethical, or otherwise harmful activities, including:
Sharing offensive, obscene, or discriminatory content
Unapproved solicitations or promotions
Attempting unauthorized access to the Zoom account or altering security settings
Recording Meet-Ups
Knowingly sharing false or harmful health information as fact
In addition, to maintain a safe space, participants are expected to obtain consent before sharing any details from Meet-Ups outside the Zoom environment.
Violations of prohibited conduct may result in removal from Meet-Ups or suspension from the Zoom account, at the discretion of Generation Lyme.
3. Content Sharing
Ownership: You retain ownership of any content you share or submit.
Limited License for Meeting Use: By sharing content in a Meet-Up, you grant Generation Lyme permission to display, reproduce, or moderate that content as necessary for the functioning of the meeting.
Prohibited Content: Sharing content that is offensive, discriminatory, obscene, threatening, intentionally misleading, or otherwise harmful is strictly prohibited.
No Promotional Content: Participants may not share promotional, commercial, fundraising, or recruitment materials in chat, screen shares, backgrounds, or any other form.
No Recording or Capture: Participants may not record, screenshot, photograph, or otherwise capture any portion of a Meet-Up.
Confidentiality of Shared Content: Content shared by participants—including personal stories, experiences, and discussion details—may not be redistributed or shared outside the Zoom environment without the explicit consent of all involved parties.
Copyrighted Materials: Participants should avoid sharing copyrighted or proprietary materials in ways that would violate copyright laws. Sharing small excerpts or materials for personal, educational, or support purposes is generally acceptable.
4. Non-Promotion & Non-Solicitation
Non-Promotion and Non-Solicitation: Participants may not promote personal businesses, services, brands, fundraising, recruitment, or external organizations. Educational or support-oriented recommendations are allowed only if directly relevant and offered without personal or financial gain. Unauthorized solicitation or promotion may result in removal from the Meet-Up and potential banning from future programming.
Research & Scientific Studies: Requests to share, discuss, or recruit participants for scientific studies, surveys, or research projects require prior written approval from the Generation Lyme Board via email at info@genlyme.org. Unauthorized presentation or promotion of research requests may result in removal from the Meet-Up and potential banning from future programming.
5. Privacy & Recording
Data Collection: Generation Lyme collects and uses personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
Consent: Personal information may be shared in meetings only with explicit consent.
Recording Prohibited: Participant recording of Meet-Ups is strictly prohibited. The Generation Lyme Board may conduct events, including webinars and panel discussions, for recording only upon receiving prior consent from all parties.
